 the domain transfer-in process

Solution

Once the domain is properly prepared at the registrar, we will initiate the transfer process, pending acceptance of the epp code supplied.

At the domain contact email account, you will receive another 3 – 9 emails from various sources to forward on to us – exactly as is - to domains@dollaradaysites.net for further processing (be sure to also check the spam folder of that email account! If using a gmail account, be sure to additionally check the social and promotions tabs of the inbox). DO NOT ATTEMPT THE APPROVALS YOURSELF, AS THE EMAIL LINKS AND VERBIAGE CAN BE (SOMETIMES PURPOSELY) CONFUSING, MISLEADING, NOT WORK ON MOBILE, OR MAY REQUEST UPDATED CONTACT INFO – any of which will fail the transfer. Should a transfer failure happen, we may have to charge to re-initiate the transfer. A failed transfer attempt cannot be retried until the full 5 – 7 business days past the failure of the current transfer attempt.

The transfer process emails can be from a variety of sources such as, but not limited to: godaddy, tucows, at&t, hibu, melbourneit, networksolutions, register.com, pdr, publicdomainregistry, bravenet, inmotionhosting, etc. There are some approval emails that we get on our end as well, that we additionally process.

Once all the approve/deny emails have been processed, we wait for the 5 – 7 business day period to complete (some registrars don’t start the counter until all approvals are done). Failure to complete all the approval emails within the 5 – 7 business day period, counts as a transfer fail, and transfer will have to be tried again.

Once a transfer is complete, DNS and other settings are applied on our end, and can take up to 8 hours to propagate.

We will notify you of a successfully completed transfer, after that notice from us, you may cancel any unneeded services related to that domain at your previous host. DO NOT CANCEL ANY SERVICES AHEAD OF TIME, AS THAT MAY FORFEIT YOUR DOMAIN with the previous registrar.
